After gaining several years of experience in the natural stone industry, President Bill Werder founded Avanti Marble & Granite, named for the Italian word “Avanti”, which means move forward and ahead. Starting as a small company in 1997 that supplied cut-to-size stone for local projects, Avanti quickly became one of the mid-Atlantic region’s premier suppliers of natural stone products. Today, Avanti employs more than 20 people. Understanding the growing demand for Brazilian granite in the marketplace, Avanti opened an office in Brazil in 2005.

Since its inception, Avanti’s team of professionals has successfully completed over $20 million in commercial projects including hotels, embassies, restaurants, and office buildings. Company growth has also been fueled by the increased demand for natural stone in residential projects. Avanti’s collection of natural stone products from around the world spans more than 300,000 square feet and includes more than 200 colors.
